The PCB disciplinary committee has fined pacer Shoaib Akhtar to the tune of US $500 for his indiscipline and erratic behaviour. The PCB body comprising Justice (Retd) Amir Alam Khan (Chairman), Maqbool Elahi Malik (Member), Abdul Salam Khawar (Member) and Syed Asghar Haider (Secretary) met here on Thursday.

The body announced the following decision regarding the disciplinary case concerning Shoaib Akhtar:

"We have heard Shoaib Akhtar at length and have gone through the record placed before us. We are of the considered opinion that this is a case, at the most of in-discipline."

"It seems that Shoaib Akhtar has taken the code of conduct very lightly and has displayed erratic behaviour. Having fined him, as stated, we expect that in future he will abide by the code of conduct and behave in the best interest of cricket and Pakistan".
